Dermaplaning is something that has been getting more popular recently and I am obsessed okay. If you don’t know what Dermaplaning is it’s basically an exfoliating and shaving procedure. It’s usually done with a scalpel-like shaver.
For a little while, I was a bit hesitant on trying out Dermaplaning because I was scared to cut my face but it turned out to be a lot simpler than expected.
There are several benefits that come from Dermaplaning. First off Dermaplaning shaves off the fine hairs on your skin which gives you a smooth baby-like feel while preventing the accumulation of dirt and oil. These little fine hairs are one of the reasons that dirt and oil stays on your skin. By removing all fine hairs on your skin, you will also shave off all the dirt and oil and preventing future build-up. This is why its also so great for acne and minimizing pores.
Like I mentioned before Dermaplaning exfoliated your skin and it does in a major way. When I tried Dermaplaning for the first time I was surprised to see how much dead skin was easily scraped off. It was better than any other exfoliating method that I have tried. Plus exfoliating is great for anti-aging as it helps with the production of collagen which helps keep us looking young. The exfoliation from this is so good that it instantly gives you a glowy look which we all love.
One of the most common benefits I heard about Dermaplaning was how great your makeup looks on. It gives you a smoother surface for your makeup, giving you a flawless and natural look. It’s great for preventing your makeup from looking too thick and gives it a smoother surface for better blending. Nothing is worse than having uneven patches of makeup on your skin, not cute.
So obviously the benefits are great and it’s a must-add to your skincare routine. Plus its so easy to DIY at home, which I love. Yes, you can go get this done by a professional but doing it at home is just as beneficial. To get started you want to make sure that your face is clean and DRY! Having your skin dry with nothing on it will help you get the most from the exfoliation and help get more dead skin off with your thin hairs. Don’t worry, it won’t hurt, shaving dry will simply get a lot more done. Trust me the difference is huge and essential.
Then with small strokes, gently grace your skin with the blade going the same direction all over your face. I usually start at the side of the face and work towards the middle. Make sure not to overdo it because you want to make sure not to over-exfoliate. You will be able to see all of the dead skin coming off and it is so satisfying. Once you are done just proceed with your normal skincare routine and moisturizer.
There are a lot of Dermaplaning razors to choose from but the ones I use are these from amazon. They work amazingly and I love the cute colors. Also, the price is less than $5.00, how great is that? There are a lot of different Dermaplaning razors to choose from but trust me not all of them work that well. Some will only glide over the skin and not give you that exfoliation that we want to get.
You guys Dermaplaning is amazing and an essential in my skincare routine. If you guys decide to try it out let me know! Just remember to be gentle, and only do it a around 2 or 3 times a week, depending on how sensitive your skin is. Also it is KEY to shave with a dry clean skin! It makes all the difference and will give you a killer glow. Okay, I wish you all smooth flawless skin.
All the love,
